AoT Episode Review - Bloodthirst?

AccelBlade - March 26, 2022

Attack on Titan’s latest episode delivers a fantastic and gorey spectacle, with new scenes added in along with stellar sequences. Here are the top three moments that did it for me:

3. The tension

The episode starts off its build up to the climactic showdown by showcasing the tension in the uneasy alliance. Despite having come this far, our former cast is hesitant to fight former comrades, but when asked to simply stand by, demonstrate the character development seen over the past few seasons. You have to put weight behind what you believe in, if you really do believe in it that is.

2. Mikasa’s bloodbath

One of the new scenes added to the episode, Mikasa has an amazing sequence reminding us all of why she’s an Ackerman - and just why the King of the Walls tried so hard to snuff the clan out. Completely forgoing her flip-flopping on whether or not she'd kill Eren, she demonstrates her commitment to the cause by skewering several former comrades. Jokes aside, Mikasa’s disdain for the Jaegerist cause surfaces in this episode, very much in line with her hatred of unnecessary deaths, something the Jaegerists scoff at.

1. Floche’s last stand

Hate em, love em, you know you love to hate em, yer boy King Floche definitely got his moment in the sun when he went up the main cast to try and take one last pot shot at the boat. Going toe to toe with two titans and one very angry commander Hange, he shows off the one thing he’s good at, having amazing luck. A coward who scoffed at dying for a cause, he came a long way, if only he’d had someone to temper his ethical decision making skills. For better or worse though, he had to end up face to face with FaZe clan Gabi. Alas, rest in peace or in hell King!
